SSI Shredding Systems, Inc. (Wilsonville, OR) delivered a PR-4000T, track-mounted reducer, to a New Jersey landfill for shredding construction and demolition debris (C&D). Rounding out at 100,000 pounds, this machine is maintenance friendly and built to endure harsh operating environments like C&D processing. The cross-belt magnet is adjustable for optimal ferrous recovery, a debris shield protects against operator spillage, and the discharge conveyor system features a mining-duty belt with cleats. Extra wide, 700 mm tracks were used for the landfill terrain. The diesel-hydraulic power pack features extreme-duty components, an oversized cooling system and severe shock load protection. The control system includes submersion-rated components and an operator interface with extensive troubleshooting capabilities. The same features are incorporated into SSI’s monstrous, 140,000-pound, PR-6000T. One of these will be delivered to a Long Island, NY transfer station next month.
