SSI shredders are designed to isolate the bearings and seals from the material being processed in the cutting table. Since each shredding solution is unique, the protection technique is designed to accommodate the shredder itself, what is being shred, the infeed method, and the shredding environment. Depending on the application, we use different techniques in order to keep what is being shredded inside the cutter table where it belongs. These include a variety of splash plate assembly and end cutter configurations, as well as specialized seal designs. This attention to an apparently small detail like bearing and seal protection is another reason SSI shredders have a reputation for long life and online reliability. |
