And in this information age, more documents than ever are being generated by the government, businesses and individuals. Protecting and securing information from unscrupulous use is an ever increasing challenge. Mail in your own private mailbox isn't safe anymore. Add plastic credit cards, computer disks, and electronic media to the "need to be secured" list and the challenge for protecting confidential information is huge. The Solution Shred it! Shredding all types of materials including paper, hard drives, computer media, microfilm or printed materials or anything with information stored on it electronically, can be shredded using SSI shredders. This particular video shows an SR-500 Uni-Shear processing files and documents for confidential destruction. Each piece of paper is shredded due to a size control screen on the shredder. Nothing passes through the screen without being shredded. This system is processing paper at the rate of 5-6 tons/hour.
