January 2009 - Airplane vs. Shredzilla! The Challenges Airplanes...real airplanes, not the remote control kind used in this video. The thick, hardened metals used in airplane construction make for a very difficult shredding task. The Solution Did you ever stop and wonder where old 747's end up when they get the end of their useful life? The valuable ferrous and non-ferrous metals get shredded and recycled. Since we didn't have an old 747 on hand, we shredded the only plane that was handy!
