Q140 Four-Shaft Shredder

SSI’s Quad® Q140 is a low-speed, high-torque, four-shaft, rotary shear industrial shredder designed to process a variety of tough materials and produce a small, consistent particle size.

Quad® Q140 shredders are known as multi-purpose shredders because they are designed to work like a two shaft shredder when the internal screen is removed, or as a sizing shredder that's able to shred, liberate and reduce a wide range of commingled materials without overly thick metals, in one pass. Four shafts in the Quad® Q140 shred and recirculate material within the machine until it is sized small enough to pass through a removable screen set immediately below the cutters.

QUAD® DESIGN FEATURES

LIBERATING

Quad® shredders have internal screens to control output size. Material is continually processed within the machine until it reaches a size small enough to pass through holes in the screen. This process rips and tears items apart more than other shredding technologies, making the Quad® an ideal solution for applications where downstream mechanical separation of materials may occur.

PRIMARY, SECONDARY, OR BOTH

Quad® shredders can process materials with or without their screen installed. They can also be used as a stand-alone processor or as a secondary processor in a multi-shredder system. Its proven self-cleaning rotary shear design is the key to its flexibility.

DRIVEN

Quad® shredders are available in a wide range of electric and hydraulic drive configurations. Drives can be selected based on low cost, energy saving, variable speed or heavy-duty application criteria.

PATENTED

Quad® shredders are available with patented features such as ACLS™ - Advanced Cutter Locking System, SSP™ - Severe Shockload Protection System, Ram Assist, and more.

PROTECTED

Quad® shredders have an advanced bearing protection system with multiple barriers of mechanical labyrinth and conventional seals, protecting costly bearings and ensuring maximum on-line reliability.

HIGH TORQUE, LOW SPEED

Low-speed, hydraulic drive technology provides an environmentally friendly operation with low noise, low dust, minimized fines, high on-line reliability and low maintenance.
