2500 Series Pre-Load Compactors

SSI's 2500 Series of pre-load compactors are ideal compaction solutions for MSW transfer, material recovery and scrap facilities requiring less than 300 tons per day of throughput

The 2500 SPH pre-load compactor features a single stage, dual acting cylinder designed to form two high, density, square ended bales for transfering municipal solid waste, recyclables, or other commodities into highway and intermodal trailers or containers. Initially designed for transfer stations with less than 300 tons per day throughput, the 2500 SPH has proven to be a reliable workhorse.

SSI's Pre-Load 2500 Series stationary compactors feature a single stage, dual acting, cylinder which is designed to form two high density square ended bales. It is the optimum solution for transferring municipal solid waste, recyclables, or other commodities into highway and intermodal trailers or containers.

Initially designed for transfer stations with less than 300 tons per day throughput, the 2500 series has proven to be a reliable workhorse. SSI has sold several of these units to higher volume transfer stations as well, when the operator has determined their container fleet handles two bales more effectively than one large bale (as created by the 4500 series).

2500 SPH – Heavy Duty Pre-Load Compactor

The “SPH” is SSI’s heavy-duty model 2500 and it weighs in at approximately 68 metric tons (150,000 lbs). The proprietary SSI hydraulic system is powered by a 150 kW (200 hp) variable speed electric motor equipped reduced voltage starter.  

The “SPH” version makes 30% more compaction force than the standard 2500 model does, which allows heavier bales and compaction of heavy materials. This compactor makes 12 to 15 ton bales from mixed MSW at cycle rate of 6-7 minutes, or 8-10 bales per hour – about 75 tons per hour when factoring in bale ejection times.

The SSI model 2500 is our “mid-sized” model, and it is built to the same quality standards as the massive 4500 model. Each SSI compactor includes installation support, facility integration support and long term factory direct technical and parts support.

2500 – Pre-Load Compactor

The model 2500 weighs approximately 61 metric tons (135,000 lbs). The proprietary SSI hydraulic system is powered by a 75 kW (100hp) variable speed electric motor equipped reduced voltage starter.  It makes 10 ton bales from mixed MSW at cycle rate of 10-15 minutes, or 4-6 bales per hour – about 35 tons per hour when factoring in bale ejection times.

The SSI model 2500 is SSI’s “mid-sized” model, and it is built to the same quality standards as the massive 4500 model. Each SSI compactor includes installation support, facility integration support and long term factory direct technical and parts support.

2500 SC – Stationary Scrap Metal Compactor

The “SC” Model 2500 weighs in at approximately 61 metric tons (135,000 lbs). The “SC” model is designed specifically to optimize the transportation of bulky appliances, sheet metal and similar items from scrap metal collection yards to automobile shredding facilities.

A 75 kW (100 hp) proprietary SSI hydraulic system powers the unit and this machine makes three 1.82 x 2.13 x 4.2 m (6 x 7 x 14 ft) bales per hour. Each bale weighs in up to 10 tons. SSI’s “SC” compactors also feature replaceable wall and floor liners to keep the main frame in good operation for many years.
