SSI Shredding Systems YouTube channel awarded The Silver Play Button

The YouTube channel BigShredder run by industrial shredder and compactor manufacturer SSI Shredding Systems, Inc. has recently reached over 100,000 subscribers. YouTube has recognized this accomplishment and awarded the channel their Silver Play Button plaque.

BigShredder originally launched on September 25th, 2006 with their Shred of the Month series. From that series they had several viral successes including their most popular video, The Hippie Bug Shredding, which currently has over 5,000,000 views.

“It’s always been exciting for me to see how SSI has been ahead of the curve when it comes to video content in this industry,” said Kia Geraths, Marketing Manager at SSI Shredding Systems. “It’s about fun and creating something that’s not only for our fans but for our company to enjoy as well.”

The channel has seen a recent explosion of growth due to changes in branding and aesthetic. Concentrating on user-based suggestions and popular trends the channel grew from around 24,000 subscribers in 2014 to over 107,000 subscribers and counting today. At the same time they also nearly doubled their total channel views to over 48,000,000.

“I’m thrilled to see how well our audience is growing and I can’t wait to see what future shreds we put together for them,” said Geraths.
